Have a Birth Day Coming? See Our five step guide to a fitting Birthday Party;

Yet another birthday is approaching and you are yet again screeching for some ideas. We do know birthdays come around every year but how can you make them memorable.  We list a five step guide that is sure to help you keep the sweet memories of that special day, well! Every year.

Advance Planning

Who doesn’t know planning can make perfect? And what way to start by emphasising this very old ideal that’s it’s important to plan your birthday party well in advance. As a rule, plan ahead a good 2-3 weeks and get close family and friends involved if you can. They might have some brilliant ideas to help further spice up your day. A written plan is of course better than a fluid one in the back of your mind. And because you’re planning in time, you have the added benefit of changing things about as you get along. Get that guest list sorted out in time, and gather some information on tastes and any special dietary needs they might have. Have a look at possible venues and discuss these with family and friends to garner their views. Always be a smart planner who considers the unexpected, the great British weather for example and how it might affect things, guests numbers etc.

Give You Birthday Party a Theme

The Most memorable days are those that had a twist to them so theme your party to give it that extra twist. Be it an exotic cuisine, décor, entertainment or dress code, there is many ways that you could theme a party. All it takes is a little effort. At one party for a friend, I turned up in a Walrus, while other guests turned up as Eleanor Rigby, a Yellow Submarine. Another awkward one was had a back garden setup for a food fight party, I wasn’t particularly keen on that though it still sticks in my memory. Décor can be a simple way to theme a birthday party effortlessly. Let’s face it, on most parties we see balloons, ribbons confetti etc. The most important thing is to be as creative as possible

Entertainment

Here, a trick is in the venue setup. Good entertainment is better alongside a finger buffet for example and guests get to mix and talk to each other as they nibble away. Create some space on the side for entertainment, a magician or Ann Summers for example added to some nice light background music to compliment can be a great treat. Consider games to run during the party, starting high temple (like a three-legged race or Twister) then moving onto low key social games like Pictionary or charades (or pass a parcel or board games for kids). This is always a great way to keep your guests engaged and entertained at the same time.

Great Food

Great food considered in a right choice of buffet style can be a great winner for any birthday party for example a finger buffet, when you want your guests to engage, a hot buffet in winter or a BBQ party the back garden in summer. Many of these are straight forward to prepare though some might need some little professional help here and there. Ensure you have time to engage with your guests too, it makes a great host. Drinks could also be setup on the same table for self service. There is lots of ways a perfect finger buffet can be done, but be sure to stick to the theme. But don’t be limited by this suggestion. Am sure a hot buffet or fork buffet or any other buffet for that matter can be tailored too.

Party extras

Again here, it’s all about being creative like getting your guests into some unusual activity or organising a freebee for them. Goody bags are a catch with kids but more so if they are well thought out to be unique and personal. Just a caution to be careful with gifts for toddlers’ goody bags for risk of choking. For adults, why not consider having a photo printer on hand take quick pictures of guests in an off moment and send it together with some party popper in a goody bag.

We hope you have found this piece helpful. We have here at Quickbuffet.co.uk a database of thousands of caterers that you could use to help compliment that great day. Why Not consider a professional caterer while you concentrate on the décor.
